Jesus Waits

'He waits with unwearied love to hear the confessions of the wayward and to accept their penitence. He watches for some return of gratitude from us, as the mother watches for the smile of recognition from her beloved child.

He would have us understand how earnestly and tenderly His heart yearns over us. He invites us to take our trials to His sympathy, our sorrows to His love, our wounds to His healing, our weakness to His strength, our emptiness to His fullness. Never has one been disappointed who came unto Him.' (MB84/85)
'Whenever one takes a step towards Jesus, Jesus is taking steps toward him.' (MS 17, 1893)
'Because we are the gift of His Father, and the reward of His work, Jesus loves us. He loves us as His children. . . . He loves you. Heaven itself can bestow nothing greater, nothing better. Therefore trust.' (DA482-483)
"The Lord is very pitiful and of tender mercy." (James 5:11)
'There is no reason for our complaining and murmuring over the obstacles that beset our path. Jesus' divine feet have pressed down the cruel thorns of the way before us, that he might make it easier for our feet. He came to banish darkness from your path; and it only exalts the power of Satan when you talk of your discouragement and doubt. It is not God who hedges up your way. If you find the way hard and toilsome, you may be sure you are not in the right way. You are seeking to reach a false standard. Take your burden to Jesus. He waits to connect you with Himself. Let your faith take hold of Christ. When trials press your soul, say, "I believe in Jesus." Think of how he made a sacrifice for you at every step. Think of how he laid aside his royal robes, stepped down from his throne, clothed his divinity with humanity, and came to our world to save you.' (RH04-30-89)
